ONBOARDING
Overview
ZoomInfo's onboarding redesign introduced a unified, guided onboarding experience across the Sales and Admin platforms.
Featuring Quickstart Guides and Sales Coach, the new system gives users a structured, incentivized path to learning the product and discovering features that make them more productive from day one.
By placing the onboarding experience directly in the navigation bar, users can access their progress at any point in their workflow. Making it easy to discover, revisit, and complete tours without ever having to search for where to start.
Each tour was designed with focused, action-driven steps that highlight the specific area of the product a user needs to interact with, minimizing distractions and making it clear exactly what to do next. Visuals and interactive prompts guide users through each step, making complex features approachable and easy to understand.
Problem
ZoomInfo had no unified onboarding experience.
What existed was a collection of mismatched, one-off guides for individual features with no consistent structure or central place for users to access them. New users were left to figure out the product on their own, often missing key features entirely. This led to low feature adoption, underutilized tools, and users who never reached the full potential of their ZoomInfo subscription.
As new features requiring more admin setup were introduced, we extended the onboarding experience into the Admin product. Ensuring that when admins complete their setup, their teams benefit from a smoother, more effective experience.
To keep momentum going, users can move directly from one completed tour into the next without returning to the home screen, creating a seamless learning flow.
Solution
A centralized onboarding system that lives directly in the product navigation, giving users easy access to their onboarding progress at any time.
To drive engagement, we introduced a credit incentive program that rewards users for completing each tour, giving them a tangible reason to invest time in learning the product.
As ZoomInfo continues to release new features, the onboarding system scales with it. Every new feature launch is accompanied by a new tour notification, ensuring users are always aware of what's new and how to use it.
